Thank You

5 Nov 2019 by Coach Nate

I would like to thank everyone for the commitment and effort towards this season. I would especially like to thank all the coaches and staff that volunteered their time to make this season possible. In preparation for the 2019 season I was fully transparent that I wouldn’t be able to commit myself fully and actively participate in the day to day operations required.

Despite not being able to commit, personnel on the board agreed to take on the responsibilities in my absence. I did however make sure things were put in to place for them to run it efficiently, part of that was the setting up the team app. It was a great idea and effective. As you all know, that changed and they were no longer part of the organization half way into the season. When they left, that posed several challenges since we lacked coaches and staff that helped handle the administrative functions such as communicating with parents since they handled the registration and contacting parents. The app is great but it also hindered us as there was no transition of contact information.

Despite all of the challenges, we rallied together and made the best of out of the season and I appreciate all your support for hanging in there with us. It is my goal to ensure that our program is not too large where we cannot coach kids effectively at an individual level, but we still need at least 15-20 kids per age group to rotate kids in and out and if we are short players, we can still compete with enough kids. In 10 years, we have never forfeited a game, and to close the season with two forfeits in the playoffs was not the way we expected to close out the playoffs, for that we are sorry, I understand it was frustrating and disappointing, I apologize to everyone affected.

Moving forward, there are a few upcoming events that I want everyone to be aware of.
1.      AAU Texas vs Arkansas All-Star game. once I know how many kids that we are able to send we will let you know who was selected.
2.      Football Pictures. I am working to coordinate individual pictures. Coach Joe is working to setup a date and time to take football pictures. These pictures will be given to each of you digitally via email. There is no cost, and you own the rights so that you can have them printed at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or online. If you need help with prints, please ask Coach Joe and he will help you.
3.      End of season banquet. Once that date is available it will be sent in the app
4.      Rebuilding for next year. Coach Joe and I are looking to the future and want to build off this season. We want your honest feedback and will be taking steps to rebuild the organization from the ground up. As I hope you know by now, I appreciate each of you want undoubtedly love each of your kids. I hope to continue to mentor and coach them, not just during their football years, but be there for them during highschool and college. This is more than football to me. I cannot do it alone, we need your help, we need coaches and volunteers for next season.
5.      Off-Season Training Program. We are looking to build an Off-Season Training Program and continue to work individual drills with your kids. This will teach them basic fundamentals such as tackling, catching, QB football and throwing mechanics, football IQ and understanding defenses. We will also have “fun days” where we will have flag football or two hand touch, allow the kids to play and have gun. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering please let us know.
6.      Soccer, Basketball and other sports. We are open to the idea of branching out into other sports. If you are interested in coaching or volunteering please let us know.
7.      Community Outreach. We are hoping to team up with others in our community and participate in activities that will strengthen our community and teach our kids humility.

Each year is an opportunity for growth, this year is a special year and I appreciate all of you that have stuck it through.  I sincerely thank you and look forward to closing out this season and building for the future.
